The Shih Tzu was a gift from the Tibetan monks to the Chinese emperor some 1,400 years ago. During that period eunuchs were the care taker for the dogs. In China it was named as Lion Dog due to its mane resembling to that of lion and was regarded as lucky charm. Later on it gained popularity in Asia also. Lady Browning was the first one to take this dog to England and later on it became very popular.

An ear mite is a tiny insect which lives on the surface of the dog’s ears. It causes a lot of discomfort to the pet. Dogs start shaking their head vigorously if they catch a ear mite infection. The ears start smelling badly. The health of the skin deteriorates and the surface becomes quite oily.
