You need to train your puppy in different behavioral aspects as well as teach him to socialize well with your family and other pets in the household. But before you begin any training, you need to prepare a concrete training plan.
The first step is to define how you want the behavior of your puppy to be in the long run. The second step is to analyze where your puppy stands in your view at present. The last and final step in the plan is how you decide to cover this journey from the present untrained and unpolished state to the position on the top of your expectations. Keep realistic expectations from your dear pet to avoid disappointments and disregard for each other.
Begin with focusing on your puppy’s behavior because habits are easy to inculcate during the early stages of your puppy’s life. Then gradually one by one add elements like duration, distance, and distractions. Remember to reward and praise your puppy for all its achievements, however small they might be. This builds the necessary motivation and interest in your puppy to grasp your training better.
Keep a track of the progress made on a regular basis. If necessary, refer to your training plans frequently to give a better direction to your training endeavor. Periodical reviewing of the training plans also gives you an opportunity to redefine the final behavior that you had initially planned of your puppy.
