Dogs on the other hand can manufacture these nutrients within their body and therefore do not require an external supply. Dog foods are understandably devoid of these nutrients. An over exposure to dog foods will leave the cat malnourished. Proteins are required in abundance. Cats require a healthy dosage of non vegetarian foods for survival. Dog foods are not protein rich to support a cat’s diet.
If your cat and dog do not get along well together, you can easily separate them both when its time for feeding. However, if the two animals move together and enjoy each other’s company, you might find it relatively difficult to separate them. However, you can train your dog to eat quickly and finish the meal while the cat is not around. If your dog has a habit of leaving meals, remove the containers immediately lest the cats try feeding on them.
