Given below are some of the available home remedies that can be very effective for ear mites.
Corn Oil - A corn oil massage in the affected region for consecutive three days has good results. This oil application not only soothes the itchy skin but also smothers the ear mites and quickens the healing period.
Mineral oil - Use a cotton ball and dip it in the mineral oil. Slowly put this cotton balls on the parts which have been affected by ear mites. It is a temporary measure for relief from ear mites.
Olive and Almond oils - You may use these two types of oils alternately. Make a mixture containing about half an oz. of almond or olive oil and put it in 400 IU of Vitamin E. the mixture can be poured inside a bottle that has a dropper. This mixture should be heated up to the room temperature, and with the help of the dropper should be put inside the ear of the dog about a half portion of the dropper. This treatment would show good results if it is being continued for at least six days constantly. It helps in healing the ear mites and gives relief from the itching sensation.
Yellow Dock Root Extracts - Use 9 drops of this extract and mix it in 1 tablespoon of water. Put the solution into a dropper and apply it in the ears of the dog. This gives wonderful results.
The last thing is to shampoo the dog frequently. A clean and healthy skin and body would not allow the mites to develop and grow further.
