Dog fleas are known by the scientific name of Ctenocephalides canis and they infest dogs by choice. These are blood sucking parasites measure only about two and a half millimeters long. This intense itching is actually caused by the fleas' saliva. It is the substances that causes the dogs blood to thin and helps the flea to digest the blood of its host. - You will find fleas on your pet or furniture in the house. You can find them on walls, wooden furniture and cracks on the walls.
- You may find itchy red pin like pricks on your skin
