Garlic capsules are very effective against dog fleas. You can administer one tablet a day after dinner. If you do not want to give this in the capsule form, you can snap up a clove of garlic and apply it on the skin of your pet once a week. Since fleas do not like the smell of garlic, they would disappear away. |

In addition, measures should be taken that the fleas do not spread rapidly inside the home as they would be only eliminated from the pet and the infection can repeat itself often.
- Shift your dog to a plastic bed and wash the sheets. Wash cotton towels and bed sheets in boiling water for at least twice a week.
- Make sure you clean you upholstery, carpet and bedding regularly.
- Attend to the cracks at home immediately as these house flea eggs which spread to the pet.
- Disinfect homes, backyard, garage and attic regularly. Use flea shampoos while bathing the pets.

- Comb your dog’s fur using a flea comb and if the live fleas fall on the floor, kill them by dropping in a bottle of surgical spirit. You can give a flea bath to your dog by visiting a local reputed pet store.
- Sprinkle baking powder and borax mixture on your carpet to get rid of fleas.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon of Brewer's yeast to your dog’s meal on a daily basis.
