The symptoms falling in the mild category include low grade fever, greenish nasal discharge and dry or productive cough for duration of 10 to 30 days. More intense forms of the infection produce signs that include high fever that could go up to 106 degree Fahrenheit, increase in respiratory rate and breathing disorders. The treatment is quite effective in the form of administration of IV fluids and antibiotics, proper rest and restricted movement. Although the results of the treatment are very promising, pneumonia may develop in more severe forms of the infection which could even pose a risk to the animal’s life.
