Rescue centers such as Line Star and Shih Tzus and Furbabies are totally made for Shih Tzus and they offer adoption. Other rescue centers where common dogs have been kept can also have Shih Tzus. Search the list through internet and make enquiry if any rescue center interests you.
Have a view of other puppies in the rescue centers if you make a visit. Do not select the puppy on the basis of a photograph, but have a look in real. It may happen that the advertisement of particular puppy is very different from what it is actually. Spend some time playing with the puppies and observe which one is responding better.
Ask the rescuers about the nature of the puppy. Also, ask about the eating and sleeping schedule of the puppy and other necessary things related to lifestyle of the puppy. It is found that they are hard to train, but do not disqualify Shih Tzu on this ground. Rather take it as a challenge and train it with full motivation. Before owning make full enquiry about every kind of vaccinations required and ask the rescuers to produce evidence.
