How To Dog Breeding ?

Breeding dogs is not an easy task. You need to make some decisions and preparations to breed them. First, you have to know the reason to breed dogs. Your motto should not only be profit. You should be clear in your mind about what type of dog you want to breed.

There are many different types of dogs. There are working dogs, which include the hunting dogs, cattle work, search dogs, guard dogs, or police dogs, and you should know the features and qualities of these dogs. The next are the show dogs, which are raised and trained to get into good shape, temperament, coloring, appearance and obedience. Next comes the puppy farms which can be seen all over the country.

See to it that the dog is of breeding age. It comes on heat or has estrus cycle anywhere between six to nine months. Take your dog to the veterinarian to know its state of health. Take the female dog for a check up to know if she has any infection or parasites. All this should be done well before the estrus cycle sets in.

The estrus cycle will start three days before the dog is ready for breeding. The genital area of the female dog will start to give out a discharge and it will also swell which results in strong scent to which the stud reacts. You have to wait for two to three days after the female starts showing the indications of experiencing heat stage.

Once the mating is finished, the female should be kept healthy by providing her with a balanced diet with vitamins. The period of gestation is 63 days after the eggs are fertilized. During the gestation period, the female should be kept healthy and stress free.

Timing-For-Dog-Breeding      Timing is very important for the breeding of the dogs. If it is done in at the wrong time, the mating will not give positive results. The semen of the dog can fertilize the eggs up to 5 days, but if it is in the bitch, it is a different story. The heat in the bitch can be up to 2, 3 or many weeks. At this time there is a chance of fertilizing. The timing can be known by figuring out the time of ovulation. More..
