History Of Dog Breeding

They have fed and protected the dogs, and established relationship with them. For many hundreds of decades, humans have domesticated these animals which have now become a friend of humans.

The dogs are divided into hunting dogs, sight hounds and livestock guardian dogs. Humans have befriended dogs based on the differences between the different breeds.

All through the process, many dogs’ breeds were developed. The wealthy people felt the privilege of being owners of the working dogs and later on the pedigree dogs. Today, almost everyone can have a dog. Some of the breeders breed purebred dogs and some prefer crossbred dogs, believing that outcross dogs are healthier than the original breeds, and they avoid line breed or inbreed.

The genetic structure of the wolves and the dogs is 99 percent similar, and about thousand years ago, the wolves were in the place of dogs today. It is said in a theory that wolf puppies which were abandoned were taken care of by humans. The compassion of human nature made people care for the abandoned and injured wolves and slowly there developed a bond between them. And as time passed, there were changes in these animals and they gradually became animals that we call dogs today.

It is also alleged that there was an opposite relationship between the wolf and the humans where the children who were abandoned were taken care by the wolves.
