Roundworm is a parasitic condition which is seen to commonly affect dogs. The worms can enter the body due to accidental exposure to water bodies which have been infected by roundworm eggs. The egg then hatches inside the body and the emergent worm attaches itself to various vital body organs, thus, feeding on them for its growth and propagation.

Differences Between Flatworms And Roundworms

Flatworms are un-segmented worms and belong to the division of phylum Platyhelminthes. They do not have coelom, respiratory system or a circulatory system. These flat parasites acquire their food from a host and their digestive system is very peculiar with only one opening. Flatworms have egg stages have temporary larval forms. Flatworms have complex life cycles and they require multiple hosts.

How Can I Be Sure A Tapeworm Is Dead ?

Tapeworm infestation occurs when eating improperly cooked meat or by petting an animal that is infected. Tapeworms can commonly affect animals such as dogs and cats.  Adult tapeworms have a head, a neck and a segmented body, with reproductive organs in each segment that produce eggs.
