Basenjis are commonly referred to as barkless dogs or African Bush dogs. It is one of the most ancient breeds which originated in the African continent. They are small and peculiar looking and are quite elegant and athletic. The coat of this breed can be of different colors -- black, copper or red. It is quite lustrous and silky. Their feet are white. Patches of white are also generally observed at the tail tip as well as the chest.
