There are almost 52 million dogs which live in the US households. Almost 6.2 million dogs face death every year. And, 3.8 million dogs die in homes, accidents, and veterinary hospitals; and 2.4 die in the shelters. Every year 7.3 million dogs are acquired by the owners from breeders and pet stores, 1 million dogs are taken from the animal shelters and 5 million are adult strays.

Scientific Name For The Hookworm

The scientific names of hookworm are Necator americanus and Ancylostoma duodenale. It is also known by the common name of New World Hookworm or the Old World Hookworm. It causes a disease called necatoriasis or ancylostomiasis. Hookworms are mainly found in tropical and sub tropical climates of the world.

What Causes Ringworm ?

The communicable fungal infection of ringworm, or tinea, often attacks the body, the nails, the feet, and the scalp. Even though it is named ringworm, it does not originate from worms. It has got this name due to the ring-like appearance that forms in the affected region of the skin.
