Dog fleas are known by the scientific name of Ctenocephalides canis and they infest dogs by choice. These are blood sucking parasites measure only about two and a half millimeters long. However, they can really bite hard. They also leave behind a tiny red bump that is no bigger than a speck when they bite. The bite can cause very intense itching and can drive dogs crazy.
