Shih Tzu, also known as Tibetan holy dog, was spotted in the US after the Second World War. A small people loving dog, the Shih Tzu is very intelligent and it is the first preference for senior citizens. In China, it is also named as the lion dog as its fur resembles the mane of a lion. It has very cute face with big round eyes and short hairy muzzle. However, the most prominent feature is its hair which gives a look of a beard and moustache.

Types Of Shih Tzu

The Shih Tzu was a gift from the Tibetan monks to the Chinese emperor some 1,400 years ago. During that period eunuchs were the care taker for the dogs. In China it was named as Lion Dog due to its mane resembling to that of lion and was regarded as lucky charm. Later on it gained popularity in Asia also. Lady Browning was the first one to take this dog to England and later on it became very popular.

Yorkshire terrier is a small dog with a giant personality. This breed is very intelligent, energetic and trustworthy. All these features make the Yorkie a very loving and endearing dog.
