Timing is very important for the breeding of the dogs. If it is done in at the wrong time, the mating will not give positive results. The semen of the dog can fertilize the eggs up to 5 days, but if it is in the bitch, it is a different story. The heat in the bitch can be up to 2, 3 or many weeks. At this time there is a chance of fertilizing. The timing can be known by figuring out the time of ovulation.
